Buying a Junk car or truck in Illinois? Here's How To, with Vehicle Bill of Sale

If you buy a junk car in Illinois, you need a Junk Vehicle Bill of Sale form. It is to be used only with a Certificate of Final Disposition.

The Junk Vehicle Bill of Sale form, just like any other car bill of sale, should contain information such as below:

• Vehicle make, model, year, vehicle identification number (VIN), and an odometer reading.
• Car Purchaser information - Name, address, and signature.
• Owner information - Name, address, and signature.
• Sale Price of junk vehicle.
• Date of junk vehicle sale
• Statement from the owner/seller that there are no outstanding liens against the car, truck or vehicle, that would prevent the sale from proceeding.

Remember: This Junk Vehicle Bill of Sale form is only to be used with a Certificate of Final Disposition, and only a Junking Certificate will be issued.
